The assay is reactive with mouse samples and is intended for research use only.

According to the manufacturer, the detection range is 15.6-1000pg/mL with a sensitivity of 7.81pg/mL. Reported precision values are an intra-assay CV of 8.3% and an inter-assay CV of 10.5%. Linearity in serum (N=5) is 103-112% at 1:2, 102-115% at 1:4, 99-108% at 1:8, and 84-93% at 1:16. EDTA plasma (N=5) shows 87-99%, 102-111%, 104-114%, and 115-124% across the same dilutions, while heparin plasma (N=5) shows 94-103%, 98-107%, 80-88%, and 100-109%. Recovery averages 89% (range 83-95%) for serum and 91% (range 85-97%) for plasma. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant mouse interleukin-27 subunit alpha.
