Description

This sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative detection of mouse IL-13 (Interleukin-13, also known as T-cell activation protein P600; UniProt P20109) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The colorimetric, double-antibody sandwich format delivers a reported sensitivity of 18.75 pg/mL across a standard range of 31.25-2000 pg/mL. IL-13 is described as a key cytokine involved in immune responses and inflammation, playing a critical role in conditions such as asthma, allergies and autoimmune diseases, making accurate measurement valuable for research into these conditions.

The protocol begins with reagent and TMB substrate equilibration to room temperature, then standards, samples and a control (zero) are loaded onto the pre-coated plate for a 90-minute incubation at 37 °C. A biotin-labeled detection antibody is added for 60 minutes at 37 °C, followed by HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) for 30 minutes at 37 °C. TMB substrate is added and incubated in the dark for 10–20 minutes; the reaction is stopped and absorbance read at 450 nm. Reported linearity in serum (n=5) is 89-103% at 1:2, 85-100% at 1:4 and 86-99% at 1:8; EDTA plasma (n=5) gives 87-102%, 83-88% and 83-96%; heparin plasma (n=5) gives 100-104%, 86-98% and 80-94%. Recovery ranges and averages are 86-98% (92%) for serum, 87-104% (96%) for EDTA plasma and 89-102% (94%) for heparin plasma. Kit components should be stored at 2-8 °C for 12 months.
