The assay is calibrated with a standard curve ranging from 15.6 to 1000 pg/mL, with a minimum detectable dose of approximately 1 pg/mL. Each well requires 100 µL of sample, and the full protocol is typically completed within 3.5 hours following overnight plate preparation.

The microplate is pre-coated with a capture antibody specific to murine IL-1 alpha, and the kit supplies lyophilized recombinant standards, a biotinylated detection reagent, streptavidin-HRP, TMB substrate, and stop solution.
