Description
Insulin-degrading enzyme (IDE) is an enzyme involved in the regulation of insulin levels and degradation, playing a critical role in maintaining glucose homeostasis. Dysregulation of IDE has been linked to conditions such as diabetes and Alzheimer's disease, making it a valuable biomarker for studying these diseases. From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA uses a double-antibody format and is reactive with mouse samples.
The kit is designed to quantify IDE in mouse serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Reported sensitivity is 0.188 ng/mL with a working range of 0.313-20 ng/mL. Detection is colorimetric, with TMB substrate developed in the dark for 10-20 minutes and absorbance read at 450 nm. Unopened kits are stored at 2-8°C for 12 months. The assay procedure involves primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, detection antibody binding at 37°C for 60 minutes, and HRP-streptavidin binding at 37°C for 30 minutes.
Manufacturer validation data include linearity across serial dilutions in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma, and recovery averages of 91% for serum, 92% for EDTA plasma and 94% for heparin plasma. The kit is intended for research applications in the fields of diabetes, neurodegenerative disorders and metabolic disease.
