Intercellular Adhesion Molecule-1 (ICAM-1/CD54) is a transmembrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin superfamily that mediates leukocyte adhesion to vascular endothelium. This Assay Genie kit is configured for quantitative detection of murine ICAM-1, which is constitutively expressed at low basal levels in murine systems and strongly upregulated by pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α and IL-1β, making it a key indicator of endothelial activation across research areas including sepsis, atherosclerosis, transplant rejection, and acute lung injury. Investigators typically monitor soluble ICAM-1 shed into cultured cell supernatants and into harvested serum or collected plasma to characterize cytokine-driven responses and benchmark candidate anti-inflammatory compounds in vitro.

Built on a pre-coated microplate, the kit delivers quantitative read-outs via an enzyme-linked detection reaction measured on a standard absorbance plate reader.
