Description

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA is designed for the quantitative detection of mouse Homocysteine-responsive endoplasmic reticulum-resident ubiquitin-like domain member 1 protein (HERPUD1) in research applications. The assay is reactive with mouse samples and validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids, with specificity toward natural and recombinant mouse HERPUD1.

Quoted performance figures include a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.156 ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 6.2% and an inter-assay CV of 7.7%. Linearity (N=5) across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16 spans 94–120% for serum, 102–123% for EDTA plasma and 101–119% for heparin plasma. Reported recovery averages 95% (range 89–101%) for serum and 97% (range 91–103%) for plasma.

HERPUD1 is a component of the endoplasmic reticulum quality control (ERQC) system, also known as ER-associated degradation (ERAD), where it supports ubiquitin-dependent degradation of misfolded endoplasmic reticulum proteins and interacts with ubiquilins to promote CD3D turnover. Dysregulation of HERPUD1 has been associated with neurodegenerative disorders, diabetes and cardiovascular disease, making it a useful research biomarker. The target localises to the endoplasmic reticulum membrane as a multi-pass integral membrane protein (UniProt Q9JJK5) and falls within the metabolism research area. The kit is intended for research use only.
