Description

From Assay Genie, this Mouse Homeobox protein OTX2 (Otx2) ELISA Kit (also known as Orthodenticle homolog 2) is a sandwich ELISA developed for the precise quantification of OTX2 levels in mouse serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. OTX2 is a homeobox transcription factor that plays a critical role in embryonic development and cell differentiation, particularly in the central nervous system, and its dysregulation has been linked to various neurological disorders, making it a valuable biomarker for research into these conditions.

The assay has a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.162ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 6.9% and inter-assay CV is 8.4%. Linearity (N=5) was validated at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16, yielding 80-90%, 105-117%, 102-112% and 95-104% for serum; 110-120%, 106-115%, 97-106% and 98-108% for EDTA plasma; and 99-99%, 92-102%, 95-105% and 100-112% for heparin plasma. Recovery averages 91% (range 85-97%) for serum and 93% (range 87-99%) for plasma. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant mouse Homeobox protein OTX2 and is intended for research use only in developmental biology.

OTX2 is a nuclear protein of 37.6 kDa (UniProt P80206). It is a transcription factor probably involved in the development of the brain and the sense organs and can bind to the bicoid/BCD target sequence (BTS): 5'-TCTAATCCC-3'. NCBI also notes its role in development and patterning of the head, the choroid plexuses, and sense organs in the embryo.
