Description

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of mouse Histone deacetylase 7 (Hdac7) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay detects natural and recombinant mouse HDAC7, is reactive with mouse samples, and is intended for research use only, with cancer listed as a relevant research area. Synonyms for the target include Histone deacetylase 7A, HD7a, HD7 and Hdac7a, corresponding to UniProt entry Q8C2B3.

Manufacturer-quoted performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.159ng/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 8.4% and inter-assay CV of 10.3%. Linearity across sample dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 is reported as 91-100% to 105-115% in serum, 83-93% to 106-118% in EDTA plasma, and 93-105% to 99-111% in heparin plasma. Recovery is reported at an average of 95% in serum (range 89-101%) and 97% in plasma (range 91-103%).

Histone deacetylase 7 is described as an enzyme that deacetylates lysine residues on the N-terminal tails of core histones (H2A, H2B, H3 and H4), contributing to epigenetic repression and playing a role in transcriptional regulation, cell cycle progression and developmental events. Dysregulation of HDAC7 has been implicated in cancer, inflammatory disorders and cardiovascular diseases, and the protein is involved in muscle maturation by repressing transcription of myocyte enhancer factors such as MEF2A, MEF2B and MEF2C.
