The HDAC6 protein is a class IIb histone deacetylase involved in regulating microtubule dynamics, intracellular transport, and the clearance of misfolded protein aggregates. Researchers studying cytoskeletal remodeling, aggresome formation, or stress-response pathways often quantify HDAC6 levels in murine model systems. This colorimetric ELISA from Assay Genie is configured for mouse-reactive samples and accepts tissue homogenates, cell lysates, and cell culture supernatants as input material.
The kit ships with reagents sufficient for 96 individual determinations arranged in a strip-well plate, supporting medium-throughput screening of experimental cohorts or dose-response series. Each run uses a small aliquot of clarified sample processed through a pre-coated capture plate, with absorbance read on a standard microplate reader equipped with the appropriate filter.
Suitable applications include measuring HDAC6 expression across transgenic and wild-type mouse tissues, profiling changes following pharmacological HDAC inhibitor treatment, and comparing baseline versus induced HDAC6 concentrations in cell-based assays. Storage of unopened components at refrigerated temperatures preserves reagent activity through the stated shelf life.
