Mouse Hexokinase-3 (Hk3) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA developed by Assay Genie for the quantitative detection of mouse Hexokinase-3 (HK3), also known as Hexokinase type III, Hexokinase-C, and HK III. The assay is reactive with mouse Hexokinase-3 and recognises both natural and recombinant forms of the protein.

According to the manufacturer, the kit delivers a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.085 ng/mL. Compatible sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. HK3 is a glycolytic enzyme that catalyses the phosphorylation of hexoses such as D-glucose and D-fructose to their corresponding hexose 6-phosphates, mediating the first and rate-limiting step of glycolysis. The enzyme is an allosteric protein inhibited by its product glucose-6-phosphate and acts as a glucose sensor by trapping glucose inside the cell. In vertebrates, four major glucose-phosphorylating isoenzymes have been identified, designated hexokinase I, II, III, and IV (glucokinase).
