Description

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of mouse hepatocyte growth factor-like protein (MST1), also referred to as macrophage stimulatory protein (MSP) and Hgfl. The assay is validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids, and detects both natural and recombinant mouse MST1.

Manufacturer specifications list a detection range of 0.156-10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.09 ng/mL. Reported intra-assay CV is 8.4% and inter-assay CV is 10.2%. Linearity in serum (N=5) is reported as 103-113% at 1:2, 87-97% at 1:4, 88-97% at 1:8 and 84-94% at 1:16; in EDTA plasma (N=5) as 95-105%, 106-116%, 99-109% and 107-115%; and in heparin plasma (N=5) as 90-98%, 81-91%, 104-113% and 89-97% across the same dilutions. Recovery is given as an average of 86% (range 80-92%) for serum and 88% (range 82-94%) for plasma.

The kit is intended for research use only and is positioned for immunology research, with MST1 described as a factor in liver regeneration and a candidate biomarker in liver disease. The target protein corresponds to UniProt P26928 and is a secreted dimer of an alpha and beta chain linked by a disulfide bond, binding MST1R via the SEMA domain of the beta chain. A microplate reader with a 450 nm filter is required.
