Hemojuvelin (HJV), also designated HFE2 or RGMC, is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored co-receptor of roughly 46 kDa that modulates bone morphogenetic protein signaling in hepatocytes and governs hepcidin transcription and systemic iron balance. The Assay Genie Mouse Hemojuvelin ELISA delivers quantitative measurement of circulating HJV, supporting laboratory investigations into juvenile hemochromatosis type 2A, iron-overload phenotypes, anemia of chronic inflammation, and hepatic BMP pathway activity. The immunoassay is configured for mouse reactivity and applied to serum or plasma specimens obtained from rodent blood collections, allowing investigators to compare wild-type, knock-out, and transgenic lines under varied dietary iron conditions. Each kit includes a pre-coated microplate, lyophilized recombinant standards, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, wash buffer concentrate, and chromogenic substrate sufficient for 96 individual assays. Concentrated reagents should be refrigerated upon receipt while the working solution is equilibrated to room temperature prior to use. Researchers examining the HJV–BMP6–hepcidin axis, hepatic iron sensing, and inflammation-driven changes in erythropoiesis rely on this ELISA to profile circulating HJV across treatment cohorts, genetic backgrounds, and disease models.
