Mouse Hemojuvelin (Hfe2) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA enables quantitative detection of mouse hemojuvelin (Hfe2) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay is specific for natural and recombinant mouse hemojuvelin and offers a detection range of 0.78-50ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.4ng/mL.

Hemojuvelin is a GPI-anchored cell-membrane protein belonging to the repulsive guidance molecule (RGM) family (UniProt Q7TQ32, NCBI Gene ID 69585, Molecular Weight 21,648 Da). It acts as a bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) coreceptor, regulating hepcidin (HAMP) expression and iron homeostasis. Defects in the Hfe2 gene are linked to hemochromatosis type 2A (juvenile hemochromatosis), an early-onset autosomal recessive disorder due to severe iron overload.
