Mouse Heme oxygenase 1 (Hmox1) ELISA Kit

A Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie for the detection of mouse Heme oxygenase 1 (Hmox1), also known as P32 protein and HO-1. The kit is reactive with mouse-derived samples and has been validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.078 ng/mL. Intra-assay precision is given as 5.6% CV and inter-assay precision as 8.7% CV. Linearity has been validated in serum (87–119%), EDTA plasma (81–114%) and heparin plasma (92–110%) across serial dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16. Mean recovery is 97% (range 91–103%) in serum and 99% (range 93–105%) in plasma. The kit is reported to be specific for natural and recombinant mouse Heme oxygenase 1.

Heme oxygenase cleaves the heme ring at the alpha methene bridge to form biliverdin, which is subsequently converted to bilirubin by biliverdin reductase. The target protein is localised to microsomes and the endoplasmic reticulum membrane (peripheral, cytoplasmic side) and has a reported molecular weight of 21.6 kDa (UniProt P14901).
