The Heme Oxygenase 1 (HO-1) protein, also known as HMOX1, is the inducible isoform of the heme oxygenase enzyme family and plays a central role in the cellular response to oxidative stress, catalyzing the breakdown of heme into biliverdin, carbon monoxide, and free iron. This colorimetric ELISA kit from Assay Genie is configured for quantitative detection of mouse HO-1 across tissue homogenates, cell lysates, and serum-derived or plasma-derived specimens, supporting research in oxidative stress biology, inflammation studies, cardiovascular disease modeling, and neuroprotection investigations. The plate-based assay uses a 96-assay format with pre-coated wells, calibrators, and detection reagents supplied so laboratories can measure HO-1 concentrations in mouse-derived samples. Intended for research use only, the kit supports pathway analysis of heme catabolism and cellular stress responses in mouse model systems.
