Mouse Growth/differentiation factor 8 (Mstn) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative detection of mouse Growth/differentiation factor 8 (Mstn), also referred to as Myostatin, GDF-8 or Gdf8 — a secreted ligand of the TGF-beta superfamily that acts specifically as a negative regulator of skeletal muscle growth.

The assay is validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and is reported to detect both natural and recombinant mouse Growth/differentiation factor 8. Performance characteristics include a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 42.4pg/mL.

Precision is reported as an intra-assay CV of 4.5% and an inter-assay CV of 8.7%. Linearity has been demonstrated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16, with recovery averaging 98% (range 92-104%) for serum and 100% (range 94-106%) for plasma.
