Mouse Growth/differentiation factor 11 (Gdf11) ELISA Kit

A colorimetric sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of mouse Growth/differentiation factor 11 (GDF11), a secreted member of the TGF-beta superfamily implicated in muscle regeneration, cardiovascular function and neurogenesis, and known to regulate cell growth, differentiation, and developmental patterning. The assay has a detection range of 15.6–1000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 7.94 pg/mL, with intra-assay CV of 8.3% and inter-assay CV of 9.8%.

The kit is designed for mouse samples and is suitable for serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants, as well as tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. Specificity is reported for natural and recombinant mouse GDF11, also referred to as BMP-11 or bone morphogenetic protein 11. Linearity has been characterised across dilution series in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma, and recovery averaged 109% for serum (range 103–115%) and 111% for plasma (range 105–117%).

GDF11 functions as a disulfide-linked homodimer and acts as a secreted signal that globally specifies positional identity along the anterior/posterior axis during development, with roles in patterning both mesodermal and neural tissues. The kit is intended for research use only and supports work in the signal transduction research area.
