Mouse Glycosaminoglycan xylosylkinase (Fam20b) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit is designed for the detection of mouse Glycosaminoglycan xylosylkinase (Fam20b), also referred to as Xylose kinase. The assay is specific for natural and recombinant mouse Glycosaminoglycan xylosylkinase and has been validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.78-50 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.39 ng/mL. Intra-assay precision is 5.9% CV and inter-assay precision is 9.8% CV. Linearity was assessed at sample dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16, returning ranges of 86-110% for serum, 91-111% for EDTA plasma, and 87-120% for heparin plasma. Average recovery was 110% for serum (range 104-116%) and 112% for plasma (range 106-118%).

Fam20b is a single-pass type II membrane protein localised to the Golgi apparatus membrane. It catalyses the 2-O-phosphorylation of xylose within the glycosaminoglycan-protein linkage region of proteoglycans, thereby regulating the number of mature GAG chains. This phosphorylation may influence the catalytic activity of B3GAT3 (GlcAT-I), the enzyme that completes the precursor tetrasaccharide of the GAG-protein linkage region on which the repeating disaccharides of heparan sulfate and chondroitin sulfate are assembled.
