Mouse Glycogen Phosphorylase, Liver (PYGL) ELISA Kit

Hepatic glycogen phosphorylase (PYGL) is the liver-restricted isozyme that catalyzes the rate-limiting step of glycogenolysis, liberating glucose-1-phosphate from intracellular glycogen stores in hepatocytes. Because the enzyme governs hepatic glucose output during fasting and feed-fast transitions, quantitative measurement of PYGL protein abundance in mouse specimens supports research into glycogen storage disease type VI (Hers disease), hepatic insulin resistance, and broader metabolic or pharmacologic intervention studies.

This Assay Genie ELISA provides an absorbance-based readout calibrated against purified PYGL standards and is supplied as 96 assays for measuring the enzyme in serum samples, in plasma-derived specimens, and in tissue homogenates from mouse sources. All components required for the workflow (pre-coated plate, standards, detection antibody, wash buffer, and substrate) are included, allowing laboratories to run standard curves alongside unknown samples.
