Glycine dehydrogenase catalyzes the oxidative decarboxylation of glycine within the mitochondrial glycine cleavage system, and altered expression of the enzyme has been associated with glycine encephalopathy, neural development disorders, and metabolic reprogramming in several cancer types, including lung and breast tissues.
