Glutaminase (GLS) catalyses the first reaction in the primary pathway for the renal catabolism of glutamine, contributes to acid-base homeostasis and regulates levels of the neurotransmitter glutamate in the brain. The protein is a homotetramer that interacts with ATCAY; this interaction may control GLS localisation and negatively regulate its activity. The product is for research use only and is supplied for cell biology studies.

Reported performance includes a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.147 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV and inter-assay CV are both listed at 0.0%. Recovery for serum and for plasma is reported at an average of 80% with a range of 80–80%.
