Mouse Glutamate decarboxylase 2 (Gad2) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie provides a sandwich ELISA kit for the quantitative detection of mouse Glutamate decarboxylase 2 (Gad2). The assay is reactive with mouse samples and validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 78-5000pg/ml and a sensitivity of 39.3pg/mL. Precision figures are an intra-assay CV of 5.1% and an inter-assay CV of 7.6%. Linearity was demonstrated for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16, with recovery averaging 111% (range 105-117%) in serum and 113% (range 107-119%) in plasma.

GAD2 is the enzyme that catalyzes the production of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), and its dysregulation has been implicated in epilepsy, schizophrenia and other neurological disorders, making it a valuable biomarker for neuroscience research. The target is also known as 65 kDa glutamic acid decarboxylase, GAD-65 and Gad65, and functions as a homodimer with a reported molecular weight of 69.2 kDa (UniProt P48320; NCBI Gene ID 14417). Specificity covers both natural and recombinant mouse Gad2, and the kit is intended for research use only.
