Mouse Glutamate Cysteine Ligase, Catalytic (GCLC) ELISA Kit

The Assay Genie Mouse GCLC ELISA Kit supports research into glutathione biosynthesis and oxidative stress responses. GCLC encodes the catalytic subunit of glutamate-cysteine ligase, the first and rate-limiting enzyme that joins glutamate with cysteine to form gamma-glutamylcysteine, the direct precursor of cellular glutathione. Quantifying GCLC protein in mouse tissue helps investigators track how the liver, brain, and lung adapt their antioxidant defenses to xenobiotic challenge, inflammatory signaling, or targeted gene deletion. The kit is supplied as a complete reagent set with pre-coated plate strips, detection reagents, lyophilized protein standards, wash buffer, and substrate solution. Each assay uses 50 uL of sample per well, with binding and detection steps performed at room temperature, and the enzymatic reaction read with a standard microplate reader. Reconstituted standards and working detection antibody are kept refrigerated at 4°C and protected from light, while the sealed kit is intended for research use only in vitro applications.
