Glucose-6-phosphatase catalytic subunit (G6PC) is the rate-limiting enzyme of the terminal step in gluconeogenesis and glycogenolysis, hydrolyzing glucose-6-phosphate to free glucose within the endoplasmic reticulum of hepatocytes, renal proximal tubule cells, and intestinal epithelium. Quantifying G6PC protein abundance in murine tissues supports metabolic research into hepatic glucose output, fasting hyperglycemia, type 2 diabetes pathogenesis, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease progression, and Glycogen Storage Disease type Ia (von Gierke disease).

This Assay Genie ELISA employs a matched-antibody pair configuration on a microplate with an absorbance-based readout. The kit is validated for use with mouse samples, including blood-derived fractions and tissue homogenate preparations from liver and kidney. Researchers working with diet-induced obesity, insulin resistance, or hepatic steatosis mouse models will find this reagent useful for studies of gluconeogenic gene regulation, ER stress pathways, and metabolic flux.

The kit provides a pre-coated plate, biotinylated detection antibody, recombinant standard, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, wash buffer, substrate, and stop solution in a single-use format sufficient for 96 individual determinations. Each kit is intended for research use only. Reagents should be stored refrigerated and protected from light until first use; consult the enclosed manual for shelf life and any freeze-thaw guidance specific to each component.
