Mouse Glucokinase regulatory protein (Gckr) ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of mouse Glucokinase regulatory protein (Gckr), also referred to by the synonym GKRP, in biological research samples. The assay has a detection range of 0.156-10ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.078ng/mL, and is reactive with mouse samples.

The kit is validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and shows specificity for natural and recombinant mouse Glucokinase regulatory protein. GCKR is a key regulator of glucokinase activity, functioning by forming an inactive complex with glucokinase (GCK) and promoting GCK recruitment to the hepatocyte nucleus, where the inactive complex is stored under low glucose conditions. Its affinity for GCK is modulated by fructose metabolites: GCKR bound to fructose 6-phosphate has increased affinity for GCK, while GCKR bound to fructose 1-phosphate has strongly decreased affinity for GCK and does not inhibit GCK activity.

Mouse GCKR has a molecular weight of 65kDa and is localised to the cytoplasm, nucleus and mitochondrion, with the Uniprot entry Q91X44.
