Mouse Glucokinase (Gck) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie offers a sandwich ELISA kit designed for the quantitative detection of mouse Glucokinase (GCK) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is specific for natural and recombinant mouse Hexokinase-4, supporting research in the area of metabolism.

Glucokinase is a glycolytic enzyme mainly expressed in pancreatic beta cells and the liver, where it catalyses the phosphorylation of hexoses such as D-glucose, D-fructose and D-mannose and acts as a glucose sensor that modulates insulin secretion. Dysregulation of GCK has been associated with metabolic disorders including diabetes and obesity, making it a target of interest for therapeutic research.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 78-5000 pg/mL, a sensitivity of 39.8 pg/mL, an intra-assay CV of 8.3% and an inter-assay CV of 9.6%. Linearity has been demonstrated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples. Recovery averages 110% for serum (range 104-116%) and 112% for plasma (range 106-118%). For research use only.
