The Mouse Glucagon (GC) ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is a competitive immunoassay for quantitative measurement of glucagon, a 29-amino-acid peptide hormone secreted by pancreatic alpha cells that counter-regulates insulin by stimulating hepatic glucose output. Accurate quantitation of circulating glucagon is essential for diabetes, obesity, and metabolic disease research in murine models.

Sample types validated for use include serum samples, plasma samples, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, and cell culture supernatant. The assay uses an absorbance-based readout and provides reliable quantitation across a detection range of 4.69 to 300 pg/mL with a sensitivity below 1.41 pg/mL. Each reaction requires a 50 µl sample volume, and the protocol can be completed in approximately three hours. Reagents should be stored refrigerated at 4°C and protected from light, and the kit is intended for research use only.
