GDF1 is a secreted ligand of the TGF-beta superfamily that operates upstream of Nodal signaling during gastrulation, contributing to mesoderm and endoderm specification and to left-right axis determination in vertebrate embryos; reproducible quantitation in mouse-derived samples is therefore valuable for developmental biology studies, embryonic stem cell work, and phenotypic characterization of transgenic and knock-out mouse lines.

The 96-assay kit ships with a pre-coated microplate, recombinant mouse GDF1 reference standard for the calibration curve, plate-coating antibodies, enzyme conjugate, wash buffer, chromogenic substrate, and stop solution.
