Description

This ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of mouse Gastrin-releasing peptide (GRP) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. GRP is a secreted neuropeptide hormone that stimulates the release of gastrin and other gastrointestinal hormones, and operates as a negative feedback regulator of fear, with established links between GRP-receptor gene expression, long-term potentiation, and amygdala-dependent memory for fear.

The assay uses an ELISA detection method with a reported detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.156 ng/mL. Reported precision values are an intra-assay CV of 3.9% and an inter-assay CV of 6.7%. Spike-and-recovery performance is documented for serum (average 87%, range 81–93%) and plasma (average 89%, range 83–95%). The kit is specific for natural and recombinant mouse Gastrin-releasing peptide, is intended for research use only, and is suited to signal transduction research. The target protein corresponds to UniProt entry Q8R1I2.
