Description

Designed by Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of mouse Gasdermin-C (Gsdmc), this Sandwich ELISA kit uses a colorimetric detection method and is specific for both natural and recombinant mouse Gasdermin-C. Compatible sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Synonyms for the target include Gasdermin-C1, Melanoma-derived leucine zipper-containing extranuclear factor, mMLZE, Gsdmc1, and Mlze. The kit is supplied for storage at -20°C and shipped at +4°C.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.062ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 5.6% and inter-assay CV is 8.4%. Linearity in serum ranged from 98-108% at 1:2 dilution to 84-94% at 1:16 dilution (N=5). EDTA plasma showed 104-114% to 95-105%, and heparin plasma showed 91-104% to 108-120% across the same dilution range. Recovery averaged 91% for serum (range 85-97%) and 93% for plasma (range 87-99%).

Encoded by the Gsdmc gene (UniProt Q99NB5, NCBI Gene ID 83492), Gasdermin-C has a molecular weight of 52,743 Da and belongs to the gasdermin family. It localises to the cytoplasm, cytosol, and cell membrane. The N-terminal moiety promotes pyroptosis and exhibits bactericidal activity, and it can form a disulfide-linked homooligomer, potentially assembling into a 16-mer complex in the presence of membranes. The kit is for research use only and is particularly relevant to cancer research.
