Description
A high-quality sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of mouse Galectin-9 (LGALS9) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids. Galectin-9 is a key protein involved in immune regulation and inflammation, with dysregulation linked to conditions such as cancer, autoimmune disorders, and infectious diseases, making it a valuable biomarker for studying these diseases and exploring potential therapeutic interventions.
The assay has a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.081 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 7.6% and inter-assay CV is 10.0%. Reported linearity in serum (N=5) across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 is 102–112%, 87–99%, 80–92% and 93–104% respectively; for EDTA plasma (N=5) the corresponding figures are 80–90%, 110–119%, 98–107% and 98–108%; and for heparin plasma (N=5) they are 104–117%, 86–98%, 91–101% and 90–99%. Mean recovery is 88% in serum (range 82–94%) and 90% in plasma (range 84–96%).
The kit specifically detects natural and recombinant mouse Galectin-9 (UniProt O08573), a homodimer that binds galactosides with high affinity for the Forssman pentasaccharide and which is localised to the cytoplasm, nucleus and secreted compartments. The kit is intended for research use only and is relevant to cell biology research aimed at understanding the role of galectin-9 in disease pathogenesis and progression.
