Mouse Galectin-3 (Lgals3) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie supplies a sandwich-format immunoassay for the quantitative measurement of mouse Galectin-3 (Lgals3) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit is specific to natural and recombinant mouse Galectin-3 and is intended for research use only.

The assay has a reported detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.089ng/mL. Reported intra-assay precision is 6.5% CV and inter-assay precision is 7.8% CV. Linearity has been characterised in serum (96-114%), EDTA plasma (81-118%) and heparin plasma (80-114%) across dilution factors from 1:2 to 1:16. Recovery in serum averages 97% (range 91-103%) and in plasma averages 99% (range 93-105%).

Galectin-3 is described as a galactose-specific lectin that binds IgE, is involved in cell adhesion, proliferation and acute inflammatory responses, and acts as a pre-mRNA splicing factor in the nucleus. The protein is localised to the cytoplasm, nucleus and is secreted via a non-classical secretory pathway.
