Mouse Galanin ELISA Kit

Assay Genie offers this competitive ELISA kit for the quantitative measurement of galanin levels in mouse samples, using a colourimetric detection format. The kit is validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, cell or tissue lysates, and other liquid samples, supporting research in neuroscience, pharmacology, and molecular biology where galanin is studied as a neuropeptide implicated in mood, memory, and pain perception, and in conditions including Alzheimer's disease, epilepsy, and depression.

Sensitivity is 18.75 pg/mL and the assay range is 31.25-2000 pg/mL. Linearity was demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions for serum (89-105%, 82-100%, 88-100%), EDTA plasma (85-103%, 87-101%, 83-97%), and heparin plasma (85-97%, 82-96%, 84-99%), each with n=10. Recovery across the same matrices was 90-104% (average 95%), 87-98% (average 92%), and 86-98% (average 92%) respectively.

The procedure begins with reagent and plate preparation, including TMB substrate equilibration and a pre-wash of the plate. Standards or samples are combined with a biotin-labelled antibody and incubated at 37°C for 45 minutes, after which the plate is washed. TMB substrate is then added for colour development in the dark at 37°C for 10-20 minutes, followed by stop solution and absorbance measurement at 450 nm. Kits are stored sealed at 2-8°C and must not be cryopreserved.
