Mouse Galactocerebrosidase (Galc) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of mouse Galactocerebrosidase (GALC). The assay is validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and shows specificity for natural and recombinant mouse Galactocerebrosidase. The detection range is 0.156-10 ng/ml and the sensitivity is 0.087 ng/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 5.2% and an inter-assay CV of 7.3%.

GALC is a lysosomal enzyme (subcellular location: lysosome; research area: cardiovascular) that hydrolyzes the galactose ester bonds of galactosylceramide, galactosylsphingosine, lactosylceramide, and monogalactosyldiglyceride, supporting the lysosomal catabolism of galactosylceramide, a major lipid in myelin, kidney and epithelial cells of small intestine and colon. In humans, deficiency of this gene product causes Krabbe disease, a lysosomal storage disorder. Linearity in serum (N=5) ranges from 96-104% at a 1:2 dilution to 112-120% at 1:16, with EDTA plasma ranging from 95-95% to 94-104% and heparin plasma ranging from 114-126% to 90-99% across the same dilutions. Recovery averages 111% (range 105-117%) in serum and 113% (range 107-119%) in plasma. For research use only.
