Description

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of mouse Fructose-bisphosphate aldolase C (ALDOC) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses colorimetric detection, is reactive with mouse samples, and is supplied for research use only.

Manufacturer-reported performance includes a detection range of 1.56-100ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.5ng/mL, and intra-assay and inter-assay CV of 0.0%. Linearity was assessed at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions, with the following ranges (N=5): serum 107-117%, 106-115%, 101-110% and 113-125%; EDTA plasma 101-110%, 90-102%, 99-109% and 91-101%; heparin plasma 106-115%, 99-109%, 86-94% and 85-95%. Recovery averages 80% (range 80-80%) for both serum and plasma. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant mouse Fructose-bisphosphate aldolase C, a class I glycolytic enzyme expressed in the hippocampus and Purkinje cells that catalyses the reversible aldol cleavage of fructose-1,6-bisphosphate and fructose 1-phosphate. ALDOC is a homotetramer (UniProt P05063; NCBI Gene ID 11676; molecular weight 39,395 Da) whose dysregulation has been linked to metabolic disorders, making it a useful biomarker for research into energy metabolism and disease pathology.
