Filamin C is a muscle-specific filamin that plays a central role in muscle cells, functioning as a large actin-cross-linking protein. It is involved in reorganizing the actin cytoskeleton in response to signaling events and displays structural functions at the Z lines in muscle cells. The protein is critical for normal myogenesis and for maintaining the structural integrity of muscle fibers. Dysregulation of Filamin C has been linked to various muscular disorders, making it a valuable biomarker for studying these conditions and exploring potential therapeutic interventions.

Performance characteristics: detection range 0.156–10 ng/mL, sensitivity 0.088 ng/mL, intra-assay CV 6.8%, inter-assay CV 8.9%. Linearity was demonstrated in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16 dilutions, with recovery averaging 81% (range 80–87%) in serum and 83% (range 80–89%) in plasma.
