Mouse Fibronectin type III domain-containing protein 5 (Fndc5) ELISA Kit

Designed for the quantitative measurement of mouse Fibronectin type III domain-containing protein 5 (Fndc5), this sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is intended for research use only. The target gives rise to irisin, a secreted factor described as mediating the beneficial effects of muscular exercise and inducing browning of white adipose tissue by stimulating UCP1 expression, at least in part via the nuclear receptor PPARA, making the assay relevant to metabolism research, including studies of obesity and related metabolic disorders.

Reactive with mouse samples, the kit accepts serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids and detects both natural and recombinant mouse Fndc5. Detection range is 0.156-10 ng/mL and sensitivity is 0.050 ng/mL. Reported intra-assay precision is 4.4% CV and inter-assay precision is 7.7% CV. Linearity has been characterised in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma (N=5) across serial dilutions, and recovery in serum (average 97%, range 91-103%) and plasma (average 99%, range 93-105%).

Readout is colorimetric and the kit is supplied with a dismountable ELISA microplate, lyophilized standard, sample and assay diluents, detection reagents, wash buffer, substrate, stop solution and plate sealer, with storage temperatures specified per component within the kit insert.
