Mouse Fatty acid synthase (Fasn) ELISA Kit

Designed for the quantitative measurement of mouse Fatty Acid Synthase (FASN) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, this sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie uses a colorimetric detection method and is for research use only. The assay is specific for natural and recombinant mouse FASN, a multifunctional protein that catalyzes the formation of long-chain fatty acids from acetyl-CoA, malonyl-CoA and NADPH and that has been described as harbouring 7 catalytic activities along with an acyl carrier protein. Dysregulation of FASN has been linked in the source literature to metabolic disorders, cancer and obesity.

Quantitative performance has been characterised on mouse serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. The detection range is 15.6-1000 pg/mL with a sensitivity of 7.98 pg/mL. Intra-assay CV is 6.8% and inter-assay CV is 8.9%. Dilutional linearity in serum spans 96-116% across the tested dilutions, in EDTA plasma 94-115%, and in heparin plasma 90-120%. Spike-and-recovery averages 101% in serum (range 95-107%) and 103% in plasma (range 97-109%). FASN is reported to localise to the cytoplasm and melanosome, and the product is annotated under the cardiovascular research area.

Reactivity is restricted to mouse samples. Kit components are stored as indicated in the kit insert, with the lyophilised standard and selected reagents held at -20°C, and wash buffer, substrate and stop solution held at 4°C.
