From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit employs a double-antibody method for the precise measurement of FABP5 (also known as E-FABP), a protein involved in fatty acid metabolism and transport that contributes to energy homeostasis and inflammation. Dysregulation of FABP5 has been linked to metabolic disorders, skin diseases and certain cancers, making it a valuable biomarker for research applications. Validated sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples.

Linearity is reported for serum (n=5) at 91-101%, 85-105% and 85-101% across 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions; EDTA plasma (n=5) at 86-99%, 84-98% and 90-97%; and Heparin plasma (n=5) at 87-93%, 80-87% and 88-100%. Recovery ranges are 89-103% (average 94%) for serum, 87-104% (average 95%) for EDTA plasma and 87-105% (average 98%) for Heparin plasma. The protocol includes reagent and plate preparation, primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, detection antibody binding at 37°C for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin binding at 37°C for 30 minutes, TMB colour development in the dark for 10-20 minutes, and absorbance reading at 450 nm after stop solution.
