Mouse Eukaryotic elongation factor 2 kinase (Eef2k) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie uses a colorimetric detection method to quantify mouse Eukaryotic Elongation Factor 2 Kinase (EEF2K). It is reactive with mouse samples and specifically detects natural and recombinant mouse Eukaryotic elongation factor 2 kinase.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.09 ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 4.6% and an inter-assay CV of 8.3%. Linearity was assessed in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma (N=5 each) across serial dilutions. Recovery in serum averaged 87% (range 81–93%) and in plasma averaged 89% (range 83–95%).

EEF2K is described as a threonine kinase that regulates protein synthesis by controlling the rate of peptide chain elongation; upon activation by upstream kinases including AMPK or TRPM7, it phosphorylates EEF2 at a single site, rendering EEF2 unable to bind ribosomes. The protein is a probable monomer or homodimer that interacts with Calmodulin/CALM1, an interaction strictly required for phosphorylation activity. Validated sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.
