Mouse EMILIN-1 (Emilin1) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie offers a Sandwich ELISA Kit designed for the quantitative detection of mouse EMILIN-1 (Elastin microfibril interface-located protein 1; Elastin microfibril interfacer 1). The kit is intended for research use only and shows reactivity with mouse samples.

Validated sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is specific for natural and recombinant mouse EMILIN-1. Performance characteristics stated by the manufacturer include a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 39.1pg/mL. Intra-assay CV, inter-assay CV, linearity and recovery data are provided with the kit.

EMILIN-1 is an extracellular matrix glycoprotein secreted into the extracellular space and found mainly at the interface between amorphous elastin and microfibrils. It may be responsible for anchoring smooth muscle cells to elastic fibers and has been implicated in vessel assembly, cell adhesion, placenta formation and initial organogenesis, with a later role in interstitial connective tissue. Dysregulation of EMILIN-1 expression has been linked to cancer, cardiovascular disorders and connective tissue diseases, supporting its relevance to signal transduction research and broader studies of disease mechanisms.
