Description

Designed for the quantitative measurement of mouse Electron transfer flavoprotein subunit beta (ETFB), this Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie targets the protein also referred to by the synonym Beta-ETF. The assay uses ELISA detection and has been validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, recognising both natural and recombinant mouse ETFB. It provides a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.091ng/mL.

ETFB is a critical component of the electron transfer flavoprotein complex, which plays a key role in mitochondrial beta-oxidation of fatty acids and amino acids. The subunit localises to the mitochondrial matrix and acts as a specific electron acceptor for several dehydrogenases, including five acyl-CoA dehydrogenases, glutaryl-CoA and sarcosine dehydrogenase. Dysregulation of ETFB has been linked to metabolic disorders such as mitochondrial diseases and fatty acid oxidation defects, making the kit a useful tool for research into metabolism and mitochondrial function (UniProt accession Q9DCW4).

For research use only. Component-specific storage information is supplied with the kit.
