About the EGR1 Target

Early Growth Response Protein 1 (EGR1), also referred to as NGFI-A, ZIF268, Krox-24, or TIS8, is a zinc-finger transcription factor encoded by the EGR1 gene. It belongs to the immediate-early gene family and is rapidly induced by growth factors, cytokines, neurotransmitters, and cellular stress. EGR1 binds GC-rich promoter elements to orchestrate downstream targets involved in cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, and immune modulation, with documented roles in neuronal plasticity, vascular injury response, fibrosis, and tumor progression.

Assay Details

This colorimetric sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is supplied as a complete 96-well microplate kit. The assay has been validated for quantitative measurement of mouse EGR1 in serum, plasma, and other biological fluids. A typical sample volume is 100 ul per well, with absorbance read at 450 nm on a standard microplate reader. Unopened kits should be stored at 2-8 degrees C; reconstituted reagents remain stable for short-term use when refrigerated, and standard aliquots should be frozen to limit freeze-thaw cycles.

Research Applications

Applicable to studies in neuroscience, cardiovascular disease, oncology, inflammation, and signal transduction research, including in vitro cell culture models and in vivo animal tissue analysis. For research use only.
