Mouse EGF ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit enables the precise quantification of mouse epidermal growth factor (EGF) levels in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate and other liquid samples. The double-antibody sandwich assay uses colorimetric detection and is intended for research use in mouse models, supporting studies of EGF's role in cell growth, proliferation and differentiation, as well as in wound healing, tissue development and organ regeneration, and investigations of cancer, inflammatory disorders and metabolic conditions where EGF serves as a biomarker in disease research and therapeutic development.

Reported performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 9.375 pg/mL and a detection range of 15.625–1000 pg/mL. Spiking recovery averaged 95% in serum (range 91–99%), 95% in EDTA plasma (range 86–105%) and 92% in heparin plasma (range 88–94%). Linearity at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions (all n=5) was 87–102%, 84–99% and 82–100% for serum; 87–104%, 86–100% and 82–93% for EDTA plasma; and 88–100%, 85–101% and 87–100% for heparin plasma. The protocol comprises reagent and TMB equilibration, a 90-minute primary incubation at 37 °C, 60-minute biotin-labelled detection antibody binding, 30-minute HRP-streptavidin binding, TMB colour development for 10–20 minutes in the dark, and absorbance reading at 450 nm immediately after stop solution. Kit components are stored at 2–8 °C for 12 months.

The kit targets EGF, also known by the synonyms URG, HOMG4 and Beta-Urogastrone (UniProt P01132), a signalling protein whose dysregulation is implicated in disease research and therapeutic development.
