Description

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit enables quantitative measurement of mouse Dual specificity mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 5 (MAP2K5), also referred to as MEK5. The kit is for research use only and is reactive with mouse samples, including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

MAP2K5 is a dual specificity protein kinase of the STE7 family that activates ERK5 and acts as a scaffold for the formation of a ternary MAP3K2/MAP3K3-MAP3K5-MAPK7 signalling complex. This pathway is involved in protecting cells from stress-induced apoptosis, neuronal survival, cardiac development and angiogenesis, and dysregulation of MAP2K5 has been implicated in cancer, cardiovascular disorders and inflammatory conditions.

Detection is by colorimetric ELISA, with a detection range of 0.625–40 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.314 ng/mL. Precision values are reported as an Intra CV of 6.9% and an Inter CV of 8.4%. The assay is specific for natural and recombinant mouse MAP2K5 (UniProt Q9WVS7), with research applications in cancer and subcellular localisation in the cytoplasm. Average recovery is 88% (range 82–94%) for serum and 90% (range 84–96%) for plasma.
