Mouse DNA ligase 3 (Lig3) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative detection of mouse DNA ligase 3 (Lig3) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit, manufactured by Assay Genie, employs a colorimetric microplate format with absorbance read at 450 nm and is intended for research use only.

The assay is specific for natural and recombinant mouse DNA ligase 3, also known as DNA ligase III and polydeoxyribonucleotide synthase [ATP] 3 (UniProt P97386). Linearity data for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma are provided with the kit, and component storage temperatures are detailed in the kit insert.

DNA ligase 3 (LIG3) is an ATP-dependent enzyme that functions in DNA repair, base-excision repair, DNA ligation, DNA recombination, DNA replication, double-strand break repair, mitochondrial DNA repair and the DNA damage response. The alpha isoform interacts via its BRCT domain with the nuclear DNA-repair protein XRCC1 and can correct defective DNA strand-break repair and sister chromatid exchange following exposure to ionizing radiation and alkylating agents. The beta isoform does not interact with XRCC1 and may be specifically involved in meiotic homologous recombination. Dysregulation of LIG3 has been linked to various diseases, including cancer and genetic disorders, highlighting its importance as a potential biomarker for studying these conditions and developing targeted therapies.
