Mouse Disintegrin and metalloproteinase domain-containing protein 28 (Adam28) ELISA Kit

Quantitative measurement of mouse Disintegrin and metalloproteinase domain-containing protein 28 (ADAM28) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids is supported by this sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie, which is intended for research use only.

Performance characteristics reported by the manufacturer include a detection range of 31.2-2000pg/mL, a sensitivity of 15.74pg/mL, an intra-assay coefficient of variation of 7.8% and an inter-assay coefficient of variation of 10.4%. The assay is reported to recognise natural and recombinant mouse ADAM28.

Linearity was evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma (N=5 each) at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16, with recoveries of 94-102%, 102-111%, 106-118% and 92-104% for serum, 90-102%, 81-90%, 98-107% and 110-120% for EDTA plasma, and 89-99%, 103-112%, 86-95% and 109-119% for heparin plasma. Spike-and-recovery testing reported an average of 102% (range 96-108%) in serum and 104% (range 98-110%) in plasma. ADAM28 is described as potentially playing a role in organogenesis and organ-specific functions such as thymic T-cell development, and may be involved in adhesive and proteolytic events during lymphocyte emigration, in ectodomain shedding of lymphocyte surface target proteins such as FASL and CD40L, and in sperm maturation.
