The Mouse Desmocollin 1 (DSC1) ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is a quantitative immunoassay with reactivity specific to mouse DSC1, a calcium-dependent transmembrane glycoprotein of the cadherin family that constitutes the adhesive core of desmosomes in stratified epithelia such as epidermis, oral mucosa, and esophagus.

Desmocollin 1 expression is investigated in dermatology, epidermal barrier biology, and oncology research, where loss of desmosomal adhesion contributes to pemphigus, skin fragility syndromes, and epithelial tumor invasion. The kit supports mouse model studies of keratinocyte differentiation, autoimmune blistering disease, wound healing, and skin carcinogenesis using tissue homogenates and cell lysate samples.
