The DIO2 enzyme converts prohormone thyroxine (T4) into the biologically active thyroid hormone T3, playing a central role in local thyroid hormone signaling in the brain, pituitary gland, brown adipose tissue, skeletal muscle, and other peripheral tissues. This mouse-specific immunoassay from Assay Genie quantifies DIO2 levels in tissue homogenates, supporting research into thyroid axis regulation, energy metabolism, seasonal adaptation, neurodevelopment, and pituitary feedback control.
