Mouse D-amino-acid oxidase (Dao) ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this Competitive ELISA Kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of mouse D-amino-acid oxidase (also known as DAAO or Dao1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay is reactive with mouse samples and recognises both natural and recombinant mouse D-amino-acid oxidase.

The kit provides a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL with a sensitivity of 39pg/mL. Precision is characterised by an intra-assay CV of 6.7% and an inter-assay CV of 8.5%. Recovery has been validated in serum (average 84%, range 80-90%) and plasma (average 86%, range 80-92%). Linearity has been evaluated across serial dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16 for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma.

D-amino-acid oxidase is a peroxisomal homodimer (UniProt P18894, molecular weight 38,661 Da) that regulates the level of the neuromodulator D-serine in the brain, shows high activity towards D-DOPA and contributes to dopamine synthesis, and may act as a detoxifying agent removing D-amino acids accumulated during ageing. The enzyme acts on a variety of D-amino acids with a preference for those having small hydrophobic side chains, and does not act on acidic amino acids. The kit is intended for research use within the Cell Biology field.
